Port Harcourt Refinery Will Be Rehabilitated, Not For Sale – NNPCL


The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has ruled out the sale of the Port Harcourt Refining Company, reaffirming its commitment to the full rehabilitation and retention of the state-owned facility.


The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Bayo Ojulari, made the clarification during a company-wide town hall meeting held at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, ending weeks of speculation over the refinery’s future.


A statement issued by the company on Wednesday quoted Ojulari as saying that selling the Port Harcourt refinery would be “ill-advised and sub-commercial”.

JAMB ANNOUNCES TOP SCORERS IN THIS YEAR'S UTME

Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has revealed the top scorers in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. Speaking at the 2025 Policy Meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ish-aq Oloyede, said Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State scored the highest  with 375 out of a maximum score of 400. He revealed the highest scorer picked the University of Lagos as his first choice, to study Mechanical Engineering Engineering. He was closely followed by Ayuba Simon-Peter John from Gombe State who scored 374. Ayuba picked Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) as his first choice to study Mechanical Engineering. In the third position is Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka from Kwara State who garnered 373 with UNILAG as his first choice. Delta police detain officers caught on tape assaulting man who insisted they show their bare hands before they search his bag

  The Delta state police command has reacted to a trending video regarding the unprofessional conduct of some policemen within the command.  According to eyewitness, the officers allegedly stopped the young man along hospital road, Asaba. The eyewitnesses mentioned that as they were about to search his bag, the victim insisted that the officers must show him their bare hands before they touch his bag as he feared they might insert something implicating into it. The eyewitnesses allege that is position infuriated the officers who began to beat him.
