PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MUHAMMAD BABANGIDA CHAIRMAN OF THE BANK OF AGRICULTURE, OTHERS AS CHAIRMEN AND HEADS OF GOVERNMENT AGENCIES


 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Muhammad Babangida, the son of the former military President, as chairman of the revamped Bank of Agriculture.

 

President Tinubu approved the appointment today, along with seven others. Some of them will serve as chairmen or directors-general of Federal agencies.

 

Muhammad Babangida, 53, is an alumnus of the European University in Montreux, Switzerland, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Public Relations and Business Communication. He later attended Harvard Business School's Executive Program on Corporate Governance in 2002.

 

Others appointed by the President are:

 

Lydia Kalat Musa (Kaduna State) Chairman, Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority (OGFZA).

 

Jamilu Wada Aliyu (Kano State) Chairman, National Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).

 

The Hon. Yahuza Ado Inuwa (Kano State) is the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) chairman.

 

Sanusi Musa (SAN, Kano State) is the Chairman of the Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution(IPCR).

 

Prof. Al-Mustapha Alhaji Aliyu (Sokoto State) is the Director-General of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA).

 

Sanusi Garba Rikiji (Zamfara State) is the Director-General of the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations (NOTN).

 

Mrs Tomi Somefun (Oyo State) is the Managing Director of the National Hydro-Electric Power Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC).

 

Dr Abdulmumini Mohammed Aminu-Zaria (Kaduna State) has been appointed Executive Director of the Nigerian Integrated Water Resources Management Commission (NIWRMC).

Apply now: Nigerian FG opens applications for recruitment portal for 4 agencies

  The federal government has announced a nationwide recruitment of 30,000 personnel across four paramilitary agencies. In a statement on Tuesday, the civil defence, correctional, fire, and immigration services board (CDCFIB) said the recruitment exercise covers vacancies in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The application portal is scheduled to open on June 26 at  recruitment.cdcfib.org . The board said applicants must be Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 and must meet minimum physical and medical standards. Male applicants are expected to be at least 1.65 m tall with a chest measurement of not less than 0.87 m, while the minimum height for female applicants is 1.60 m. JAMB ANNOUNCES TOP SCORERS IN THIS YEAR'S UTME

Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has revealed the top scorers in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. Speaking at the 2025 Policy Meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ish-aq Oloyede, said Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State scored the highest  with 375 out of a maximum score of 400. He revealed the highest scorer picked the University of Lagos as his first choice, to study Mechanical Engineering Engineering. He was closely followed by Ayuba Simon-Peter John from Gombe State who scored 374. Ayuba picked Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) as his first choice to study Mechanical Engineering. In the third position is Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka from Kwara State who garnered 373 with UNILAG as his first choice.
