Man Arrested For K!lling Young Lady In Nsukka Hotel After She Demanded More Money For A Second Round Of S^x The Enugu State Police Command have arrested the male suspect, Emmanuel Gambo from Kogi state, in connection with the m#rder of one Deborah Sam-Praise Ememem (female, aged 22), who was recently found de@d in a hotel room in Nsukka. The case, initially reported to Nsukka Urban Police Division, was transferred to the Ho micide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (State CID) for thorough investigation. ‘’Findings revealed that on June 14, 2025, at about 9:00 p.m., the suspect, a second-year student of Material and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), checked into a hotel in Obukpa, Nsukka, with the deceased. Awka, Anambra State – In a disturbing incident, 25-year-old Samuel Eze was apprehended on Sunday, July 6, in Awada, Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, found in possession of a fresh human female breast. According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, Eze's arrest was made by a joint security team from the Awada Police Station and the Anambra State Vigilante. They encountered Eze at approximately 3:30 p.m. during a routine patrol along Jude Onyekwere Street. The recovered body part has been transferred to a morgue, and Eze is currently undergoing intensive interrogation as part of an ongoing investigation that could lead to his prosecution  

 A road accident on Lagos’ busy 3rd Mainland Bridge has left several people injured after a collision between a Toyota Camry and a commercial bus, popularly known as a “Danfo.” The crash happened before Adekunle Junction, heading inward Lagos Island. Witnesses say the impact caused the bus to lose control and somersault multiple times, throwing passengers into panic and leaving bystanders rushing to help. Emergency responders arrived quickly to attend to the injured and clear the wreckage to prevent further gridlock on one of Lagos’ busiest routes.   Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has died in a car crash, aged 28. The Portugal forward's brother Andre Silva also died in the accident, which took place in the Spanish province of Zamora. The 26-year-old was also a professional footballer, with Portuguese second-tier club Penafiel. The Guardia Civil has told BBC Sport that Jota and his brother died at about 00:30 local time on Thursday.  The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has reimbursed Nestlé Nigeria Plc the sum of ₦31.1 million for the medical treatment of an injured employee under the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS). Presenting the cheque, NSITF Managing Director, Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye noted that claims of this magnitude “demonstrate the ECS’s capacity to act as a genuine safety-net for workers and their families.” Executive Director, Operations, Hon Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay applauded Nestlé’s rigorous compliance, saying it “sets the benchmark for multinationals operating business in Nigeria.  Since launching a digital claims portal in 2023, NSITF has reduced average processing times by over 40 per cent and handled more than 22,000 claims in 2024.   The Senate on Wednesday passed a bill to establish the Bitumen Development Commission, aimed at regulating and harnessing Nigeria’s vast bitumen deposits. The bill, sponsored by Senator Jimoh Ibrahim (Ondo South), was passed after it was read for the third time and considered by the Senate Committee on Solid Minerals Development. Presenting the committee’s report, Senator Diket Plang (Plateau Central) said the commission is necessary to unlock the economic potential of Nigeria’s estimated 42 billion tonnes of bitumen reserves. He noted that the mineral, found largely in Ogun, Ondo, and Edo states within the Dahomey Basin, ranks as the second-largest deposit globally. Plang said despite the viability of the resource, there is currently no legal framework in place to regulate its development, exploration, and exploitation.   The Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria says there will be temporary disruption of SIM-related services across all mobile networks in Nigeria. ALTON disclosed this in a statement signed and released on Tuesday by its Chairman, Mr Gbenga Adebayo, and Publicity Secretary, Mr Damian Udeh Adebayo said the disruption follows a directive from the National Identity Management Commission to switch to a new identity verification platform. He explained that the migration process has caused unforeseen technical challenges, affecting the availability of SIM services nationwide. The new platform aims to improve the integrity and efficiency of identity management systems. “However, the transition has temporarily hindered Mobile Network Operators from offering seamless SIM-related services,” he said.   The federal government has announced a nationwide recruitment of 30,000 personnel across four paramilitary agencies. In a statement on Tuesday, the civil defence, correctional, fire, and immigration services board (CDCFIB) said the recruitment exercise covers vacancies in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The application portal is scheduled to open on June 26 at  recruitment.cdcfib.org . The board said applicants must be Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 and must meet minimum physical and medical standards. Male applicants are expected to be at least 1.65 m tall with a chest measurement of not less than 0.87 m, while the minimum height for female applicants is 1.60 m.
